Grand finale
The day after what was hopefully the first-of-many walks through Maple Grove Forest Preserve, we brought the Toths back to join us for an Election Day stroll. A grand finale of sorts, since I think it's safe to say Indian Summer is over.
Savannah and Will were hesitant to pose for the paparazzi, but the notorious second born of each family sat together like the two peas in a pod they are. :)
More clearing of the path... Will's work is never done. Luckily, he had two willing apprentices.
When the girls tired of the walk and headed back to the playground with Amy and Shawn, the boys and I continued on. We found sticks and leaves, and had a lovely time! I melted when I saw how Steven looked up to Will.
Back at the playground, Ellie was busy climbing on the equipment and doing a face plant into the wood chips at the bottom of the slide. No worries, though; she brushed herself off and headed back to the top via the crazy ladder to her left. Clearly, she's the monkey of the family!
