Heritage Fest: accept no imitation

There's nothing quite like Heritage Fest, Downers Grove's annual answer to the street fair: the rides, the food, the general spectacle. Will and Ellie are still a little gun shy when it comes to participating. And, really, that's fine. But Will was feeling daring enough to try a roller coaster and another ride or two.

Ellie joined Will on the vehicle carousel. The firetruck is a perennial favorite.
Finally, Ellie and I enjoyed the regular carousel. I suggested to Ellie that she was riding a carousel horse like Mary Poppins. To which she replied, "Mommy, Mary Poppins doesn't wear sunglasses." True that.
