Celebrating Will's sixth on the Fourth

Our slightly-extended immediate family rang in Will's birthday in between parades and fireworks (and raindrops).
Travelers Café made another perfect cake, per Will's instructions. Last year—which seems like last decade—it was a digger cake. This year, a blue brachiosaurus with green polkadots. Their chocolate cake with raspberry preserves was noteworthy, to say the least!
Six candles and one for good luck...

Will with his birthday booty.
Reading his cards! Aunt Liz added Darth Vader sound effects with her iPhone. :P
Ellie checking out Aunt Liz's light-up, Yoda card with sound. I feel old just thinking about greeting cards with nothing but words.
Grandma can't stop Ellie; she can only hope to contain her. Ha ha!
Enough partying. As soon as most everyone left but before we could even clear the table, Will got to work.

By bedtime, Will was ready to lead his team of Bionicle Inika. Happily, he did submit to sleeping before assembling the rest of his LEGOs! On all accounts (with the possible exception of the weather), a wonderful day. We're tickled that next year, two new (second) cousins will hopefully join us to celebrate!
