"There are two lasting bequests we can give our children. One is roots. The other is wings."

And now for something... relatively different

We ramped up for Easter (yes, I'm finally talking about Easter!) in the most unusual way. At least for those of us used to Easter egg hunts in the snow! Grandma and Grandpa's neighborhood had a day-before-Easter eggstravaganza (sorry) for all the (mostly visiting) kids.
Kids were divided by age for egg hunts, which was a great idea. Maybe Ellie was overwhelmed by the warmth and sunshine, or by hunting without her big brother: her strategy was to wander around and put her basket on her head.
Happily, another little girl shared eggs with Ellie, as did Will, who had no trouble hunting and gathering with the 6-year-olds.
We were quite proud when he was able to pay a few eggs forward and help a new friend who managed to tip her basket and lose her spoils while running across the field.
Even the Easter Bunny will have a tough time topping all this excitement!
