School's out!

It's been long enough since I transitioned from first to second grade (ya think?) that I forget whether kids (and, understandably, teachers) are always this ready for the school year to end. The last day finally rolled around June 3. It was a chilly morning; nothing a hoodie couldn't fix!
Smiles abound. Even Ellie and Flower were giggly.
After nearly an hour, the final bell rang, and the kids were released. Will is now a second grader ("hat" notwithstanding)!
Happily, the rain stayed away as Mrs. Richards' class celebrated at Toths'. Mrs. Richards (right), Will's homeroom teacher, and Mrs. Gergits (left), his reading and math teacher, stopped by to bid the kids adieu. I don't know how Will's subsequent teachers will ever top them—it was a great year!
The second graders and their sibs celebrated into the afternoon.
...Hope next year's second grade teachers have a relaxing summer!
