A wild Father's Day

Mother's Day may have been all civilized, but Father's Day was another story... Butterfield brought the party animals to us. Ellie's hesitance melted away, and she became really fond of the other, um, kids. Just don't let them loose on the new course!
Will has a few desert tortoises on his FarmVille farm, but had never met one in person. They became fast friends—you'd be surprised how fast a tortoise can moved when pursued! (Take that, hare!)
Among the highlights was a ride on a camel. With two humps. Nothing promotes closeness between siblings like fear. ;) They made themselves comfortable quickly.
While the grownups were enjoying a brief spell of sunshine on the patio, the kids sampled some fresh cotton candy. They were both a little skeptical; it's not chocolate, after all. But they gave it two thumbs up!
Cheers! Even Daddy was treated to a taste or two.
The wildest part of the day was when Ellie volunteered to hold a tarantula. Aunt Liz can't even stand to look at the photo. :P
It was an enjoyable day, celebrating with Grandpa and Daddy. We missed Opa, but traveling through the Canadian Rockies is a good excuse. Happy Father's Day!
