We'll meet you at the zoo!

Once upon a time, Jennifer and I were in a class together at IU (was it biology? environmental science?). I met her charming beau Justin, who was kind enough to offer me rides, thereby saving me from certain abduction walking across campus at night. They attended our wedding, we attended theirs. They welcomed their first child months after Will was born, and their second baby girl months before Ellie. Distance had kept us from meeting again and introducing our children. But finally, a new job and impending move back to Chicago brought us together! Both families spent a glorious afternoon last weekend at Lincoln Park Zoo.

While the kids warmed up (leave it to Ellie, and Olwen too, to play shy), they watched a sea lion swim circles around its pool.
It didn't take long before we couldn't keep up with the kids. Or the fish.
We stopped to watch a juggling comedian in between exhibits. Adaryn was the first to submit to the show, but the other three soon followed.
The big cat house was a must-see, especially since Adaryn and Olwen were sporting animal-print outfits.
Did I mention it was a glorious day?
Will, hanging out with the ladies.
LPZ includes a farm area, complete with a barn full of techie learning tools. We also watched a sweet new chick hatch out of its egg. I offered to sit on the kids... they declined.
Will and Elle high up in the John Deere cab. A few years ago, this would have been Will's personal Cloud Nine.
Admittedly, our days at IU were a few years ago. Look how far we've come! Adaryn, Will, Olwen and Ellie.
The Yantas are back in Texas, but not for long. Can't wait until you're back in Chicagoland!
