"There are two lasting bequests we can give our children. One is roots. The other is wings."

Bonus!

Our park district offers only one three-day-a-week option for kids who aren't 4 before Sept. 1. The mid-day time is awkward, which means many parents choose other options... leaving us with a class of six kids and two teachers! Such a small class lent itself to parents and grandparents coming into the classroom for yet another Halloween treat: an up-close peek at the kids' day.

Each child took a turn behind the mirror "door" and played trick-or-treat. Dorothy was demure, as usual. And yes, Flower the wolf shared the basket with Toto.
The only downside of Ellie's small class is that there's only one other girl. Sufi and Ellie are also the oldest in the class. Something tells me they manage just fine. Here, they are singing, "Five Little Pumpkins."
Yes, this is the *whole* class! Sufi, Hunter, Kyle, Ben, River, and Elle, along with Mrs. Owens and Mrs. Benjamin.
So sweet!
