Christmas Eve

It took us a few years to settle into a Christmas routine, but the kids helped solidify our Christmas traditions, beginning with Christmas Eve Mass, then moving on to celebrating with the Knudsens. Christmas wouldn't be complete without a photo in front of the tree.
Back in the day, it was all about Dave and Andy. Now, I daresay the next generation steals the show.
To say the kids were eager to open presents doesn't do their anticipation justice. But they held it together, and we all took turns opening gifts. One of the highlights for Will: LEGO Universe, a new online video game. I don't think he believed it at first!
Will has his fish, and now Ellie has animals to watch, too—birds at her new window bird feeder!
Elle was intrigued by Omi's extensive German nutcracker collection, and oohed over her newest, who looks a bit like Saint Nick.
Opa barely managed to keep a safe distance while Will and Uncle Dave dueled between gifts. Dave makes it look easy!
It was a lovely evening—and about as peaceful as you can get with Will and Elle in tow. Omi, Opa and Uncle Dave left to attend Gloria Dei's 11:00 service, and we sped home to get in bed before Santa's arrival!
