City Museum, from the inside

The Chicago Tribune's Travel section conveniently covered the city of St. Louis a few weeks ago, more for All Star Game visitors, but perfectly timed for our visit, too. The article featured City Museum, which is all about the imagination and really proved more akin to a fun house (thanks for the comparison, Uncle Dave!).

I don't think I can do it justice. And I don't think we did more than crack the surface of all City Museum has to offer. Ellie loved the huge turtle tank, both from above and below (through glass, lest you think she went for a swim). She and Omi hung out on the upper deck for quite some time.
Okay, so the previous photo makes more sense when you can see the turtles below. Except all my photos are blurry. Because, you know, turtles are really fast.
Did I mention the turtles have a whale of a neighbor? Don't eat Dad and Will! We explored our way through the museum's caves, and somehow ended up in a tubes along the ceiling. Brave Omi was right behind me as we chased Andy and the kids who-knows-where! Perhaps the best part of the tubes was the dismount via rolly slide. The caves were dark—hence the lack of photos—but you have to love Will mugging in front of one of its resident dragons... in his dragon shirt, no less. Next, we headed to the human skate park. A half pipe for people! Again, this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. We also explored outside. But... why walk down the stairs when you can exit via Monster Slide? Wheeeee! Stay tuned for more...
