We'd have painted the town red...
But it was like that when we got there. ;) We spent the weekend in St. Louis with Omi, Opa and Uncle Dave; part of an every-few-years pilgrimage to see the Cardinals in action. So as not to waste any time, we scoped out our digs—including a sassy red ottoman—at the hotel quickly.
Then it was on to the park adjacent to the court house, just west of the iconic Arch.
The All Star Game was hosted by the Cardinals days before our arrival, so we also got to check out some of the decorative mini-arches from the occasion.
Before we knew it, it was game time—our first at the new Busch Stadium. What a view!
Our last visit was during its construction in June 2005, when the construction might have been more exciting than the game for nearly-2 Will. And the temps were well above this weekend's 70s.
But this time, the game proved exciting in itself, and furthered brain washing efforts. I think the hats helped, too.
The game was great: a win, thanks in part to two home runs by Albert Pujols. And complete with bonus fireworks from the riverfront.
