Princess Ellie meets Princess Caroline

Our dear friends the Craftons visited from Indianapolis two weekends ago. The kids hadn't seen each other in 2.5 years—which is a long time when you're 6 or nearly 6, and a *really* long time when you're 3!—and Andy and our kids had never met Camden, who was arriving on his first birthday.

No sooner had Isaiah (who will be 6 Easter Sunday) and Caroline (who turned 3 the day before) jumped from their minivan than Isaiah and Will ran off in one direction to play LEGOs, and Ellie and Caroline headed upstairs to play dress-up. No introductions. No shyness. Just instantaneous friendship.

Soon thereafter, we were greeted by Princess Ellie and Princess Caroline.
This is Ellie's dramatic pose.
And off they go find frogs to smooch!
Busy kids left the parents and the birthday boy to catch up—and marvel at our children—in relative peace. We *must* do this more often! (And I apologize for anything dramatic that Ellie taught Liney!)
