The impetus
Anticipating the demolition of Yankee Stadium, we started talking with Omi, Opa and Uncle Dave about taking in a Yankees game waaay back when we visited Fenway for Andy's 30th birthday. And given this is the stadium's final year, it was finally time to make the trip. And we're so happy we did!
Despite feeling fever-y and cold-y, Ellie got into the spirit of the game (that's the innards of a $5 soft pretzel in Andy's hand, in case you were wondering).
Opa shared his peanuts with Omi and Will -- it's a ballgame, after all -- while Uncle Dave masterfully shot photos of the game.
A quick peek at the action. The Yankees even won, 5-1.
This is how I spent the majority of the game, relaxing in the last row, taking in the breeze with conked Ellie in my lap and Will enjoying the day!
We were accosted by a *very* friendly Yankees fan after the game, who shared her fondness for the Cardinals (how could she tell we're fans?) and took a family photo. You can see the new stadium in the background -- it's going to be gorgeous.
