Tagged; I'm it

I interrupt this blog to bring you seven random facts about me. The rules of blogging dictate that once you've been tagged -- as my friend Tiffany tagged me -- you follow the rules, and I'm nothing if not a rule-follower.

So, here goes:
1. I don't like to cook -- there's something too intimidating about trying to please everyone's palate. Which is tremendously inconvenient because I like to eat. That, and my family continually demands to be fed.

2. I'm not ambidextrous; my left hand is purely decorative. Just watching left-handed athletes -- batters and golfers, in particular -- gives me the willies.

3. I wore a skirt to high school exactly twice. I think I was still recovering from eight years wearing a plaid uniform jumper/skirt.

4. Every Christmas season, my mom sends me a fruitcake from Gethsemani Farms in Kentucky. Note that she sends it to *me* because the rest of my family chooses not to partake. Which means I typically eat three pounds of fruitcake by myself. I may forsake all other fruitcakes, but I can't wait for this one.

5. I took a few random classes in college, including my only ballet class ever, cosmology (the origins of the universe, not to be confused with cosmetology) and Turbo C++ and Fortran. I try my best to apply this knowledge to parenting.

6. I sleep with a cloth diaper on my face. Seriously. I slept with a blankie wrapped around my head as a kid. At some point I graduated to a lap quilt, and now I rely on an old burp cloth. I'm sure Andy finds it sexy.

7. I'm addicted to names. I purchased my first book of baby names in sixth or seventh grade, from the check-out line in the grocery store. At one point in my childhood, I planned to have 10 children because I couldn't narrow down my name selection. Oddly enough, I don't think William or Eleanor made preliminary lists.

I'm pretty sure you're lying about the skirt in High School thing. I don't remember you ever wearing one. Of course if it was twice and I only saw you maybe 1/3 of the days of high school, and then assuming I'd even remember something like that 15 years later, and yep, I don't know what I'm talking about. It was a fun tangent anyway.
