First Communion is coming!

I cannot believe Will is months away from making his First Communion. Old St. Pat's began the celebration Sunday with a kick-off Mass and reception. Fr. O'Connor clarified for the kids (and parents) that while the Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Christ, it's not like eating Jesus' arms and legs, but rather food for our spirit. Which is a relief—thank God for the Jesuits!

Will was rather zombie-like throughout the afternoon (maybe camping out and staying up until midnight the night before wasn't the best idea), but cake helped.
As principal of FXW, the school associated with OSP, our friend Kate was there to celebrate with the second graders. We're celebrating with her and her husband John: their first babies (twins!) are due in August!
